ok...where were we before ur friendly neighbourhood typhoon which neverwas came around...oh yes...me had landed in this wierdall country..
I land in taipei...meet up with the ppl here...one from my team in bangalore named guru...he introduces me to this other guy..."This is Ganesh Gopal Masti Jayaram...all in all for CRM"...well i thought he was just joking...but later on me finds out that the chaps name is really exactly that....seems he lived up to name...
The monday me gets the first taste of what is to be gruel in this world out here...Lunch time all feel hunger....me wondering what the crap we are going to do for food...1230 ppl get up...chalo...lets go to this restaurant for lunch...so we get up trudge about side streets of central taipei for 15 min and we are at this Burmese place called Kunmings...In the three of us go...get to a table...no verbal exchange..just a indication from one of the other chaps and lo and behold....five minutes later food is here....Consisting of one bowl's worth of rice, some dal, some form of roti, steamed cabbage, some sort of rot made out of soya and salad...this remains staple to ths day...me asked how ppl discovered this place in the first place....seems that no one knows ...infy ppl have been coming here since the dawn of time...There be these two Paki places around which we go once in awhile...but then they not near the office or near where we stay...so the same rot itis....unless someone feels inlcined to do the cooking....and the only chap who seems to do so is going back next week...so bring on the rot....
-----------
Been one month here now....what have i seen of this country...nothing...only that which i have seen in random walks (both forced and intentional) around the city. Wonder how many of you have walked from Fountain up DN Road past BMC,Xaviers, Metro and then Kalbadevi Road to Princess Street? Dont believe there are many....Well that is pretty much what me saw the other day..Somehow got to this place where there be all these massive old fashioned buildings...nice wide road...you come to this ground off to one side...walk further up...the road narrows....hawkers appear...thebuildings have all these small shops selling god alone knows what...it becomes cramped...the crowd slows the traffic down....suddenly...in the middle of it all...you see this old majestic place...like the fire temple at princess street...uncanny
Praise the lord that there are no Gujjus around...
